Vision for the project: Creative exploration through art and nature

In an era where digital media and screens dominate the everyday lives of children and young people, it is important to create space for activities that promote creativity and practical skills. The need to reduce screen time and facilitate more handicrafts and creative work in schools has received increased attention, and this project wants to contribute to this development. By focusing on creativity, crafts and natural materials, the project will provide a learning experience that strengthens imagination, sustainability and a connection to both art and nature.

Through creative workshops, participants will discover the joy of creating with their own hands, whether it is through shaping clay, making three-dimensional figures from papier-mâché, building houses from recycled cardboard or exploring natural textures through the frottage technique. Inspired by the work of many artists who use nature as a medium, we will also explore artwork made from materials found in the local environment, whether it is branches from the forest or driftwood from the beach. This gives participants the freedom to find inspiration in their surroundings and create something unique.

The project builds on my experience from previous workshops that have engaged children and youth in various creative processes. From papier-mâché Christmas decorations to monotype and cardboard printing, from puppetry to frottage projects – all of these activities have aimed to inspire participants to develop their creative skills and explore their own expression. Through this project, I want to continue this work and provide participants with a meaningful, sustainable and creative experience that connects tradition, nature and modern artistic expression.

The goal is to give children and youth the opportunity to take a break from the digital world and experience the value of craftsmanship, while developing a deeper understanding of both art and the environment. The project is an invitation to see the world with new eyes and be inspired by the simple but powerful possibilities found in natural materials and human creativity.

With kind regards,
